Frequently Asked Questions
How long should my hair be for waxing?
Hair needs to be at least 1/4 inch or the length of a grain of rice. If you can't pull it with your fingers the wax can't grab it properly.
What should I do before my waxing appointment?
Exfoliate the area a day before your appointment and lightly moisturize. Avoid tanning/spray tanning for 24 hours before and after. DO NOT USE numbing creams or sprays!!! They don't work and make the whole process harder.
Can I get waxed while on my period?
Yes you can. You could be more sensitive but make sure you have a tampon, cup or disc inserted. If you have an appointment scheduled and aren't comfortable waxing while on period please contact us.
Why do I have bumps?
Bumps happen for a variety of reasons. The most common is a histamine reaction. These typically appear during the wax service. Waxing removes hair from the follicle. Your body perceives this as an assault or injury and histamine rushes to the follicle. Touching freshly waxed skin can transfer bacteria and lead to bacterial infections. These are typically larger bumps with a yellowish pus. DO NOT pop as that will only spread infection. Leave it to a professional. Hot summer days make for a moist environment which can create bumps. Try to keep area as clean and dry as possible. Regular exfoliation keeps ingrown hairs at bay by clearing dead skin and raising hairs preventing them from being trapped under the surface.
How do I prep for a spray tan?
Shower and exfoliate the day before your appointment. Do not apply lotions or oils. Wear loose dark clothing day of appointment.

What if I'm pregnant?
Congratulations! You can receive any and all waxing survices during the full length of pregnancy, no problem. You can still receive facials, we just restrict certain ingredients and eliminate devices that are contraindicated. Massages are allowed after the first trimester and are performed on your side with pillows for stability and comfort.
